Due to THC’s psychoactive property – meaning its ability alter the state of mind and produce a ‘high’ feeling – products containing this chemical are popular for recreational use and appear in many forms. Ground dried cannabis flowers, which is perhaps the most widely recognized form, is used for inhalation via combustion of paper and flame, pipe or water pipe. Apart from this form, THC can be found in several products that when consumed can produce a high, which is different to products containing CBD, where no high effect is felt. This includes edibles, nasal sprays, and vaporizer liquids. Many other forms exist, such as lozenges and suppositories. These forms are still being researched and are not currently sold in Ontario.
